Things have been substantially busy around here the last week. We've had 6 baseball/softball games in the last 5 days. And a couple of practices. Tonight we have Madison and Ian's orchestra concert at school. Tomorrow more practice. Saturday baseball game. Monday swimming starts back up. Add to all this work, keep house, meals, homework, etc. and you've got one tired Kelly. I'm ready for a vacation. Usually I'd say I was going to runaway to Mexico, but with the whole swine flu aka h1n1 flu, I'm not even about to go there.
I've had a migraine since 4:00 this morning. Called in sick to work. I was able to take an hour long nap this afternoon while Elek was sleeping. The headache is still there, but less severe. Thank God! I am still grouchy though. As Xavier would say, I am miserable.
It's strange that I haven't blogged in so long and yet I still have nothing to say. Maybe it's time to give up blogging. Maybe after 4 years I've said everything. Hmmm.

Encyclopedia of Me - P
pajamas- i would wear my pajamas all day, every day if it were slightly acceptable.
photography- a recent love of mine. would love to study more about it. would also love to be a professional photographer, and terrified that i would fail at it.
pickles- have been one of my favorite foods for as long as i can remember. especially the super sour deli ones. funny though, i hate pickles when i am pregnant.
poetry- i took an online poetry IQ test several years ago. these were my results:
"You have an excellent grasp of poetic form, structure, and technique. People at this level have generally taken advanced-level study in literature or have completed advanced poetry courses. They have often spent considerable time writing, developing their own poetic "voice," and their own techniques. People at this level, particularly if they can apply their knowledge of poetic form and structure to their own work, are considered among the most talented of poetic artists."
porch- as a teenager one of my favorite things to do was to go on our back porch with a pillow and a quilt and nap. it is especially pleasing to do when it is raining.

Encyclopedia of Me - A
it's called the
encyclopedia of me
and in a series of 26 posts,
i will list some things about me for each letter of the alphabet.
(really...you think i can do a whole post about
x and q? i'm not so sure, but i'm gonna try.)
these will not go in order, and it will likely take me a full year
(or possibly longer)
to complete this task.
it's harder than you think!
but also really really fun.
i highly recommend it.
alarm clock- I really don't need one because I always wake up 5 minutes before it's set to go off.
amelie- is my all time favorite movie. The film is a whimsical and somewhat idealised depiction of contemporary Parisian life, set in Montmartre. It tells the story of a shy waitress who decides to change the lives of those around her for the better, while struggling with her own isolation. It was nominated for five Academy Awards.
apology- I don't like when people over apologize until I say it is okay, even when it isn't okay. It just makes me feel guilty and it makes me think the apology really isn't sincere.
art- I love art. I could spend hour upon hour at art museums. I am also the least artistic person you will ever meet.
autumn- Autumn is my absolute favorite season. I'm pretty sure that it's because it's so colorful and I love color.

Fondue Fun
So I got the big idea to make fondue and make a big deal about it. I've had a fondue pot for about 10 years and have never used it. I made cheese fondue (recipe will be posted on my cooking blog), cut up a baguette, broccoli, cooked some cheese tortellini and dumped out some baby carrots. I thought it would be fun, and it was to everyone...but Madison. Madison barely tried it and announced that it would forever be known as Fonpoo. (She's only slightly dramatic.)
