I Need Sleep

I have suffered from insomnia for years. It is not enjoyable. I am currently in a period of sleeplessness and I'm averaging 2-3 hours a night. I'm irritable and snappy. (Just ask the people I live with.) I really need a good 8 hour night soon, not sure how much more of this I can take.

Oyvey, me too sister! Full bright moons are my enemy. Maybe I'm a werewolf? I have taken more medicine at one time than someone should without luck and then I'm exhausted and dragging all day. It's very hard to be us!

I'm sorry to read this Kell. Have you had your hormones checked out. With your busy life, you'd think by bedtime you'd drop like a rock onto a nice pillow. I'm praying you get some sleep and soon! Hugs, Cathy

P.S. I went through sleepless nights just prior and during 'the change' .. you're too young for that .. so get checked out by a doctor .. xxx

I agree with Cathy, if you haven't already done so, see your doctor and ask for labs to check you hormone leverls. Also, if you haven't already, try melatonin. It is a naturally occuring hormone and might offer some relief.

Is there any chance you might be suffering from sleep apnea? My husband suffered for years with it with me trying to convince him to be tested all along.

Finally, while he was hospitalized for one of his liver episodes, the doctor order a visit to the sleep lab after his discharge from the hospital. They discovered he had a very bad case of sleep apnea and had him start using a CPAP at night.

At first, he rebelled but came to appreciate it because he got a good night's sleep for the first time in over 30 years. Just something for you to consider if you haven't already done so.

I love you my sister and I am praying you find an answer soon.

Many hugs.........
