We're Home
And I'm going to lie down because I've had some weird stomach bug (aka Montezuma's Revenge) since Saturday. (I know, TMI.) I leave you with a video of opening ceremonies.

I'm Stressed!
I have sooooooooooooooooo much to do before we leave for Cheboygan tomorrow! Currently I have the washing machine and the dishwasher going. I still have several loads of laundry to do. I have to pick up a few things from the store, pick Madison up from Tiara and Makayla's house, do a few things around here, pack, take Madison to practice...can I scream now! I really shouldn't even be on the computer.

Car Wash, Part Deux
Here we go again. The Softball girlies are having another car wash tomorrow, Tuesday, July 22 from 4:00-8:00 at Thrifty Florist on Telegraph in Taylor. We are trying hard to raise money to help pay for hotel rooms, gas and food for our trip to Cheboygan. Would love to see some of you there!

Sunday Seven
I look like a complete doofus.
Workin' at the car wash, yeah.
Because he loves me.
Elek wanted some chips!
What my van has looked like for a week. It was washed off today at the car wash and will be repainted before the Cheboygan trip.
Mad Dog with her fabulous coaches, Tim, Kevin and Jamie.
Cute little boys in a stroller.
Tomorrow I may do an actual blog post and not just photos!

Photo and Quote of the Day
Because honestly it's all I've got today. I'm exhausted, weary and stressed.
Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon. A happiness weapon. A beauty bomb. And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one. It would explode high in the air - explode softly - and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air. Floating down to earth - boxes of Crayolas. And we wouldn't go cheap, either - not little boxes of eight. Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in. With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest. And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination.

Quote of the Day
"I have been absolutely terrified every moment of my life, but I've never let it keep me from doing a single thing I've wanted to do." -Georgia O'Keefe
Not much to say today. Michael is out of town, Madison is at Truman taking some summer classes, Ian and Emilee are playing Playstation and Elek is watching them. I have made breakfast, cleaned animal cages and now I need to dust and vacuum. My toe still hurts and this shoe thing is getting on my nerves.
Isn't it pretty?

In other news...my baby drinks from a sippy cup! :( It makes me so sad that Elek is growing up so fast, I need it to slow down a bit.
I must admit, he looks too cute holding that big cup.
My toe still hurts. Don't want to take anymore pain meds. Took them last night and honestly I didn't hear anything all night. Thank God Michael heard the baby when he woke up because I sure didn't.
I pray that you all have a fun and safe holiday.
God Bless America!!!

Look What I Did This Evening
No Poo Day Two
The baking soda gave me some sort of strange reddish orangish streaks!
Okay, so that's not true. I used chemicals! for that. The chemicals did not touch my scalp though, just the hair. The streaks aren't quite the color that the box showed, they were supposed to be a deeper red, but it doesn't really bother me.
The no poo seems to be working. Usually I have to use mousse and hair spray when I actually style my hair. (Something I don't do to often anymore, ponytails are much easier.) Today's do has no mousse and no hairspray. So far, so good.
I'm currently enjoying some peace and quiet. EJ is asleep and the older two are upstairs actually not fighting for once. They may have already killed each other. All I know is that I like the quiet.
I so had thought of something good to blog about last night and for the life of me I can no longer remember what it was. I hate when that happens.

6 Months
This photo is so Elek. Spit hanging off his chin. Looking around, taking everything in.
Elek is EXTREMELY spoiled. He doesn't ever want to be put down. If he's fussy in his swing or while he's playing in the floor, usually the second you pick him up he gets quiet. Booger! I believe he's teething, he chews on everything and slobbers constantly. He's my oldest baby to get teeth. Ian was 3 1/2 months, Madison was 4 months and Elek is still toothless at 6 months. EJ loves to eat. His favorite baby food is sweet corn casserole followed closely by pears & raspberries. We can hardly give him juice because afterward it's all he wants and throws a fit when we try to give him formula. Basically he's a joy and we all love him!
No Poo Wash Day One:
Seems to have worked well. I let it air dry last night and it dried bizarrely curly.

No Poo
Shampoo that is.
So, yes, I'm thinking about saying no to shampoo. I've been doing some reading on it and I honestly I've never liked all the chemicals in. Michael says I'm turning hippie in my old age. (He told me this since I recently started some organic food.) I figure what do I have to lose. If I get greasy hair then I switch back to shampoo.
I've also been thinking about making my own deodorant. Found a recipe online and I'm pretty sure I'm going to try it. I don't like the aluminum in regular deodorant (studies have shown that aluminum causes Alzheimer's disease and since my Grandma died of it, I know first hand that I don't ever want it.) and it seriously makes my pits itchy, rashy messes. Again, what's the worst thing that could happen...stinky, sweaty pits? Then I go back to the old stuff.
Michael informed me not to even start reading up on cloth diapers. (Although I have) He's got nothing to worry about, I'm not even ready for that.
